For some reason iTunes (on a Windows Vista PC, in this case) is having a problem syncing certain photos with my iPhone. I’ve created a separate iPhone folder for photos that I want to keep on the device, and filled it with 44 pictures for my test. But only 15 of the photos got transferred from the folder to the iPhone. What’s more, some of the photos that transferred are messed up, with weird errors, as shown with this one (bad resolution because I had to take it with a Nokia phone up close; I don’t have a digital camera).
Anyone else experiencing the same problem? Solutions? Comments welcome.
I recently had to restore factory settings on my PC (windows xp) but before I did I transfered all my family photos to my iphone (different sub folders) but when I try to store them on the computer the photos can’t be located.
Fred was 100% correct. Delete the folders called ipod cache and take a pic and re-sync to computer.. Thanks
I can sync photos to my Iphone. The problem is I can’t add additional pics to this phone without the original pics being replaced. It seems I can only have one folder of pics on the phone. Is there a way around this so I can get more pics on the phone. Iphone 2G running 2.1
I have had the same problem and finally have a solution! Rename the file as two parts. Like this (josh_pic). Not like (joshpic). Be sure to use the underscore and that should fix your problem.

I been having this problem for like…an eternity. The whole external drive thing works. I did all sorts of thing..even reinstalling the OS.

if your drive is ntfs, no matter winxp or vista. the itunes do not take the correct information of the photos and other files then, you have to use fat or fat32. for this files.
if you change that. you will be happy, like me.

I noticed Camera Roll not syncing – using Windows XP – whilst remaining photo folders synced perfectly. In “My Computer” the iPhone appears and if you click it, then photos, you get the camera roll, which will show as thumbnails. Then select and move them to the PV/Mac folders you want them in on your computer. Next time you sync – photos will be in folders on iPhone. They remain on camera roll – so need deleting from there.
I am having iTouch 2G with 3.1 firmware, and can’t sync more than 107 photos from my computer and having enough space on device. Can anybody help?

When I try to sync my iPhone 3G to a Windows 7 computer I get the error: iTunes cannot sync photos to the iPhone because the folder “My Pictures” cannot be found. The phone name and my computer name are not the same, and I can see the folder My Pictures on the computer and there are some pictures on my iPhone. Any ideas?
I figured it out…
Go to your itunes an open up your iphone window. You’ll see multiple tabs with options like music, apps, etc… At the end you’ll see photos. Click that and set up a folder that has all the photos that you want on it. Follow the appropriate instructions and you’re phone will start formatting the photos to fit into your iphone.
Have a similar problem with photos, work desktop is XP svspk3, Iphone is a 3GS running v4.0 and laptop is vista ultimate. Laptop crashed and restored using disk, but when trying to itunes sync to get photos from Iphone back to laptop (can view the photos without a problem on the iphone) sync does not see them to move back to laptop or dekstop. Used explorer on desktop to go to iphone and does not show files of the photos….don’t understand what is going on!
my iphone won’t sync my photos. It gives me an error message that reads “itunes cannot sync to your iphone, file cannot be found”. I’ve been syncing with the exact same phone & computer for 3 years, now it cannot find file. I have rebooted computer, restored iphone, updated itunes, reinstalled itunes… NOTHING!!!!HELP!!!
